Happy Friday and album release day! This week we are streaming releases from Cannibal Corpse, Anti-Flag, Converge, Polaris, and Annihilator. Discover new music, and read up on what we had to say about our favorite new records of the day.
Cannibal Corpse – Red Before Black
With an almost 30 year career under their belt, Cannibal Corpse are back to pulverize us yet again with their nearing release Red Before Black. Slashing their way into our hearts–as always–with their gore infested and bloodcurdling tracks, these death metal legends are set on continuing to up the shock factor, while evolving the precision of their execution and sound with their 14th studio record. Featuring an intense amount of aggression and a more refined touch, Red Before Black fits in with Cannibal Corpse’s discography, while managing to stand out strong from the pack. It may not be the alpha, but it has one hell of a mean bite. With a better grip on production and a savage as ever delivery, their latest is an extremely fun and exciting listen. Regardless of the fact that it didn’t stray too far from the formula, it brings it all together in one slasher of a record that solidifies their place even further as one of death metal’s best. Check out the full review here.
Essential Tracks: “Red Before Black,” “Only One Will Die,” “Corpus Delicti”

Anti-Flag – American Fall
After the American Spring there was bound to be an American Fall, better known as Anti-Flag‘s 10th studio record and nearing November 3rd release. Taking a stand as always lyrically, and inspired by the current political climate and affairs, their latest not only has perfect timing, but perfect meaning for those who are fed up with living in such divisive and worrisome times. Anti-Flag have always been vocal about their beliefs, but American Fall takes it a step further by relaying their powerful message, while also making it crystal clear. As motivated and potent as ever, they’ve come out with an album that though isn’t their catchiest, is one of their most important yet. It plays as a sonically pleasing record, but its best quality is its significance. With American Fall, Anti-Flag are continuing to break walls and barriers. Set to uplift communities stricken by war, racial upheaval, and financial collapse, it’s one of the most empowering records of 2017. Check out the full review here.

Converge – The Dusk in Us
Converge has released The Dusk in Us, their first studio record in five years and follow-up to 2012’s All We Love We Leave Behind. Not only are they as visceral as ever, but it marks the bands explosive return in an incredible way. Their melodic side is featured throughout, making this one of their most palatable yet; however, that fiery madness and musical chaos we’ve come to love from Converge is still there, cutting through in tracks like “Trigger.” With a varying display of tempo and emotion within the tracks, Converge have created something that has evolved upon their sound, while delivering a rather ferocious, yet eerily serene, listen. This is a record that wows sonically and lyrically until the very last note, so make sure you check it out below!
Essential Tracks: “Reptilian,” “Under Duress,” “A Single Tear,” “The Dusk in Us”
