Circa Survive have revealed the second single from their upcoming sixth studio record, The Amulet, which will be releasing September 22nd via Hopeless Records. “Rites of Investiture” follows their debut track, “Lustration,” and it’s completely jarring to the senses–in the best way possible. So far, this is going to be one hell of an album.

The music video features an unexpected star, teenage Anthony Green. All of the footage for the video comes from a short film his cousin, Jonathan Michaels, shot in 1994 while building his film school portfolio. He asked then 12-year-old Anthony to be a part of one of those projects, and gave him a copy of The Smiths’ The Queen Is Dead as a reward, which he instantly fell in love with. With the addition of the repurposed black and white footage,”Rites of Investiture” comes further to life, mirroring the lyrics that are inspired by birth and the harsh world that children are immediately thrown into.
