Just recently, Sleepwave announced that they are releasing new music sometime this Spring. The release will most likely be a single as we have yet to hear any tunes off their upcoming sophomore release and follow-up to their killer album debut, Broken Compass. But, it could also be the entire album as the element of surprise has been something bands have so readily turned to as of late. Our last update was in February when Sleepwave let us know that the writing stage of LP2 was almost done. With the video update they posted tonight, it looks like they are done recording, so who knows what we’ll be graced with in the next few months. An official release date has yet to be announced, but we will keep you updated as we hear more.

This means that everyone can officially begin preparing for the band’s new album, which as explained by Spencer to Shane Told on Lead Singer Syndrome, is going to be a diverse album with both those heavy songs we’ve come to know and more intimate, piano-driven tracks. It’s clear the band already knows who they are and how they want to be perceived by listeners, but it seems like we are going to get to see some more experimentation from Sleepwave on the record.
